As of April 15th, 2020, The Centre for Research & Innovation for Black Survivors of Homicide Victims (The CRIB) has been hosting the 30@8:30 weekly series of Instagram Live talks that brings the community together to hear from interdisciplinary scholars and community service providers about homicide, structural inequalities, trauma and victimization that impact some of our most vulnerable.

Each week, Founder & Director Dr. Tanya L. Sharpe has engaged leading scholars, community leaders, and social work professionals in a 30-minute dialogue that explores how the current global pandemic is affecting vulnerable populations — and how we can ensure we are responding to their needs. The series explores topics including the relationship between COVID-19 and structural violence, traumatic stress and grief, gun violence and victimization during the outbreak, the impact on the incarcerated, and the erasure of our healthcare system.
