Travonne Edwards

RBC DOCTORAL FELLOW
Travonne Edwards is a first-year Ph.D. of Social Work student in the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work program at the University of Toronto. He currently holds an advanced diploma in Child and Youth Care (CYC) from Sheridan College, and a Bachelor and Master of Arts in CYC from Ryerson University.
​

An experienced critical youth worker, Travonne has a demonstrated history of working in various social services related settings including child welfare and protection (group care, foster care, one to one support), education and supportive housing for youth experiencing homelessness. He has worked as a Research and Evaluation Specialist at York University’s Youth Research Evaluation and Exchange (YouthREX) and numerous research projects related to the well-being of young people, race relations, child welfare, education, mental health, intersectional and interlocking oppressions, anti-Black racism and community.
​

He currently is studying under the Royal Bank of Canada Doctoral Fellowship at The CRIB. He is also actively working at Sheridan college as a part-time instructor in the Child and Youth Care program, a Research Assistant on the international, SSCHR funded Rights for Children and Youth Partnership through Ryerson University’s School of Social Work.
